DESCRIPTION

MAXELASTIC PUR is a single component liquid product ready to use, based on moisture curing special polyurethane resins, that provides a high performance waterproof elastic membrane designed for long-term protection and waterproofing of concrete, cement-based mortars, bricks, tiles, etc.

APPLICATION FIELDS

• Elastic waterproofing for roofs, balconies and terraces.

• Waterproofing and protection of water tanks, reservoirs, digesters,etc.

• Bridging, sealing and filling of hairline cracks subject to movements.

• Waterproofing under ceramic tile in indoor or outdoor applications, such as bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, etc.

• Waterproofing of irrigation channels, pipelines, etc.

• Coating and protection of metal tanks or silos, steel pipes, etc.

• External waterproofing for underground concrete structures.

ADVANTAGES

• Very high elasticity at both low and high temperatures, enabling to absorb thermal movement of substrate with extreme weather conditions as well as vibrations.

• Excellent crack-bridging ability, acting as anti-fracture membrane on substrate.

• It forms a continuous waterproof membrane with no need of joints or connections, and it seals cracks permanently.

• Excellent adhesion on common substrates in construction. Does nor requires special primers.

• Good chemical resistence to de-icing salts, seawater, wastewater, alkali and acids solutions.

• It is suitable for application at permanet immersion.

This system was designed to supply until 600 inhabitants. The local picked is very remote, without electric supply. The system was conceived to stand the lack of brightness in the local, especially in the Winter. The economic analysis concludes that this type of system is very competitive, just because doesn´t need the inspection of CERTIEL and the placing of a regulamentary electric system. Therefore the bill with the electric company will be considered as savings in this kind of system.

The products MAXSEAL and MAXSEAL FLEX from DRIZORO´s trademark, exclusively represented in Portugal by Ecofirma - Gestão do Ambiente, Lda., during this month, had the approval for use as revetments of hydraulic structures in the Supply System of EPAL. This approval was achieved after the tests were done according to the law n.º 243/2001 and the British Standard BS 6920: "Suitability of non-metallic products for use in contact with water intended for human consumption with regard to their effect on quality of the water".

This important approval joins to other countries, for instance, Spain, England and Sweden, which also approved these products, according to their own prestige laboratories.

Ecofirma believes that this important step may be the great entrance of these products in the portuguese market as quality solutions to adopt for the protection and the waterproofing of the hydraulic structures, mainly for deposits of drinkable water.

The proposal, delievered to the Local Power Parlamentary Commission, increases the fines value, until now estabilished by the parameters of the  counter-ordering general regime.

The welcome novelty is the creation of a counter-ordering national register, where we can find the individual register of the offenders. The register will be run by the Inspecção-Geral do Ambiente e Ordenamento do Território (IGAOT) where the sanctions will be register and the warn measures will be applied in counter-ordering processes as well as the judicial decisions. 

The proposal still defines the creation of an Environmental Intervention Fund, constituted with 50 per cent  of the receipts of the fines devoted to the offenders, when not to be able to compensate them in useful time was destined repairing resultant damages of harmful activities for the environment, especially in the circumstance of the offenders. The remaining income of the fines will have already to be distributed by the authority that applies them (25 per cent), the taxing entities (15 per cent) and the State (10 per cent).

The portuguese Government is preparing a change in the diploma which allows the European ecological label in Portugal in a more effective way. The purpose is also a better promotion.


The initiative falls to the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation and the Ministry of the Environment, responsables for the ecolabel in the nacional territory, which want to end with the need of homologation for the attribution of the european flower.

Nowadays, only five companies in Portugal have this ecological symbol and the purpose is to attract a large number of clients, in a way to help distinguish the products and the services and increasing the competitiviness as well as the exportations.

 At the present, the ecological label is already shown off by 284 enterprises, when Portugal is at 10th place in number of enterprises with the ecological label, beside the United Kingdom. According to data  of the European Commission spread by the Magazine Examination, the country with bigger number of enterprises to show off this label (81) is Italy, followed by Denmark, which writes 53 enterprises up with the ecological label. In Spain 18 are the enterprises to use this symbol. For sectors, it is the textile that has been having more followers.

In this way, is much easier to update the important legislation for each company activity.

The government approves important measures to the use of vehicles and technologies less pollutant, through the change of the composition of the tax car in the light vehicles of passengers, in order to fight against the climatic alterations.

The new taxation model of the car tax will not increase the fiscal charge in the sector, when there is registered only a "redistribution in a way to stimulate more options friendlier of the environment" from july 2006, according to the Resolution of the Cabinet, approved in 22 of September.

The car tax in the light vehicles of passengers is no longer, exclusively, based on the capacity but also on the level of emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), where are specified tables of emissions.

In this way, the government follows the orientations and the studies of the European Union, which indicate that the car tax can contribute to minimize the environmental negative resultant impacts of the entry in circulation of the vehicles, re-orientating the search of the market for technologically less pollutant vehicles.

During the Cabinet, the government also approved the updating of the social cards of the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon, in the context of an agreement celebrated with the operators of road transports of passengers. Besides the social benefits this measure is inserted also in the environmental politics, as soon as "it aims to secure a system of support and incentive to the use of the public transports, to the detriment of the individual transport".

The government decided the Decree-Law that defines the Directive n.º 2003/73/CE, of 24 of July 2003, and takes over the the Decree-Law n.º 304/2001. The purpose was to allow the use of modern instruments of communication in the spread of the information to the consumer, about economy of fuel and emissions of carbon  dioxide, like a way of securing that the consumers have the essencial informations to make the right choice in what concerns the car market.

The Green Point Society is now promoting a new service, especially oriented to the collect of the used paper from the companies. Named "Archive Zero", it pretends to freely collect the paper waste in the offices. Photocopies, print paper, mail and envelopes are papers that can earn a new life, only if they are directed for the recycling. This service wins more importance when we know that more than 90% of the used paper in the companies can be recycle which contributes to decrease the destruction of trees and also the need of landfills and incineration.

Per year, each person makes more than 60 kg of paper waste in the office, more than 46 kg that are produced at home, so this represents an oportunity to upper the numbers of paper recycling. According to the responsable of comunication, Joana Santos "the purposes of this new service is to take advantage of the offices paper, beacuse its estimates that each worker spends more than 29% of paper in the office than at home.The service is free therefor we hope that will be accepted by the companies, especially those that haven´t created processes for collecting material for recycling.

Com a ades?o a este serviço a empresa implementa uma política de responsabilidade social e o meio ambiente fica a ganhar com a eliminaç?o de desperdícios de papel que s?o totalmente reciclados. A utilizaç?o do serviço obedece a algumas regras muito simples sobre o que se pode e n?o pode colocar no contentor do Arquivo Zero. Deve-se colocar o papel, sem amarrotar, no Arquivo Zero ou em qualquer outro receptáculo, uma vez que a ades?o ao serviço n?o obriga a utilizar exclusivamente o contentor criado para o projecto.

O papel pode ser guardado em qualquer local, obedecendo ? regra base de que n?o se podem colocar papéis ou cart?es com restos de comida ou outros resíduos orgânicos, pois estes inviabilizam totalmente a reciclagem do papel. Quando o depósito do Arquivo Zero (ou outro depósito utilizado para o efeito) estiver cheio, deve-se contactar a recolha gratuita através do telefone n? 21 948 03 26. É também este o contacto que as empresas interessadas em aderir ao novo serviço devem utilizar.
A ades?o ao serviço é gratuita e está disponível, actualmente, apenas na área da Grande Lisboa, através da empresa Francisco Marques Rodrigues, SA.

A new board-law of water, based on the community directive n.º 2000/60/CE, was approved in global final votation, on 29th of September, in the Republic Assembly.

This new legal regime brought up some good things like the division of the country in hydrological basins  and the introduction of a fee of hydric resources. There are environmental purposes and checking procedures of the quality of the water and a new list of counter-ordering. The national territory division in hydrographic regions is a demand of the community directive and it will be made real through the creation of five Administrations of Hydrographic Regions in which buildings are the Commissions of Co-ordination and Regional Development. In the Water Institut there will stay the National Water Authority, with functions in planning, co-ordering and regulate. Locally, the public authorities are assigned to administrate the waters that are in area, giving permission to and fiscalizing the utilization.
The new fee of hydric resources will be determined on the basis of the private utilization of the water domain, the impact of that utilization towards the environment and the utilization of works made by State.
